ECO CODING ADVENTURE

Our Eco Coding Adventure has been designed with remote delivery, homeschooling and COVID-19 safety in mind, so the show can go on whatever the circumstances!

Our Eco Coding show is now available for Autumn Term bookings! We recognise that pupils have been missing out on visits and activities in school and we’re pleased to be able to help. Recently, we’ve successfully delivered our new COVID-19 safe Eco Coding shows in schools, and now we have a new tried and tested virtual option!

Our virtual show now allows us to reach more children, so we can inspire more tech innovators of the future! It can be delivered to your school as a coding assembly which is also suitable for online learners, and it includes follow up learning activities to embed the learning that can be run by teachers or parents/carers doing homeschooling.

We’ve received the most incredible feedback for our Eco Coding show. Teachers say it’s a fantastic way to teach the computing curriculum and children tell us they LOVE IT!

ABOUT THE SHOW

Focused on reducing waste whilst shopping, the show helps students combine their concerns for the environment with problem-solving using computing – and discover how computing can help save the planet! With the help of ‘Professor Trice’ and ‘Al the Robot’ they learn to write algorithms which reduce the amount of waste in their shopping basket, debugging as they program. Using our signature blend of storytelling and performance, children are taking on an engaging coding adventure which they really feel part of.

COMPUTING CURRICULUM KEY TERMS

We ensure key terms in the computing curriculum are covered - as you can see by those highlighted in blue below!

KS1 curriculum:

  • understand what algorithms are; how they are implemented as programs on digital devices; and that programs execute by following precise and unambiguous instructions

  • create and debug simple programs

  • use logical reasoning to predict the behaviour of simple programs

KS2 curriculum:

  • design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts

  • use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output

  • use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs
