ECO CODING ADVENTURE
Discover how computing can
help save the planet!
Focused on reducing waste whilst shopping, our exciting, interactive Eco Coding Adventure helps children combine their concerns for the environment with problem-solving using computing!

With the help of ‘Professor' Trice and AL the Robot they program an eco-friendly shopping robot, and learn to design, write and test algorithms which reduce the amount of waste in their shopping basket, debugging as they program.
Using our signature blend of storytelling and performance, 5-9 year-olds are taken on an engaging coding adventure which they really feel part of.

Want to know more? Find out what's included, why our coding adventures are great if you're a corporate sponsor, and why they're great for schools below.
WHAT'S INCLUDED

-
Schools get access to our pre-filmed interactive 30-minute show. This is designed to be streamed in an assembly type setting.

-
This is followed by our age-appropriate computing curriculum-focused activities and worksheets to embed the learning - each activity takes about 45 minutes.

-
There's an unplugged activity which doesn't need any special equipment, just space for children to create grids on the floor and move around.

-
There's an optional online activity which can be done individually or in pairs.

WHY IT'S GREAT FOR CORPORATE SPONSORS

-
As a corporate sponsor you'll be helping to inclusively inspire today's young people to become the tech innovators of the future - so they can one day solve the world's biggest challenges. At the same time you'll support schools, action your ESG targets, inspire your staff and add social value, all in one go!

-
All our corporate sponsors tell us how much they've gained from sponsoring our coding adventures, and how much their employees have enjoyed the opportunity to participate, volunteer and give back.

-
You'll also get visibility across all our social channels as we love highlighting forward-thinking organisations who support our mission!

-
Corporate sponsorship of our coding adventures has created award-winning initiatives, like our Bupa Coding Days, for which we recently won a Learning Excellence Award.

WHY IT'S GREAT FOR SCHOOLS

As well as being a lot of fun, our coding adventures are a great way to cover the computing curriculum, as they're all fully curriculum-aligned. They're also based on 'real life' cross-curriculum themes so children can connect this experiential learning with how tech could be used for good in the future.

In particular we ensure that all the key terms in the computing curriculum are included. Those in our Eco Coding Adventure are highlighted in blue below, and all other key terms can be covered in selected follow-up activities.

KS1 curriculum (ages 5-7):

-
understand what algorithms are; how they are implemented as programs on digital devices; and that programs execute by following precise and unambiguous instructions
-
create and debug simple programs
-
use logical reasoning to predict the behaviour of simple programs

KS2 curriculum (ages 7-11):

-
design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts
-
use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output
-
use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs
