British Science Week 2025

getwiththeprogram

Today, Friday March 7th, marks the start of British Science Week and a 10-day long celebration of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) 🎉

We're thrilled that so many schools and organisations have chosen to run a Get with the Program virtual coding adventure during this week! Students aged 5 to 14 years will be supplementing their STEM learning with enriching and fun experiences, taking part in coding adventures to help a robot; land her lunar module on the Moon, make healthy lunch choices, shop in a way to promote sustainability, and collect and analyse data to chart a path to Net Zero!

Children are sitting on the floor of a school hall. Some are holding signs which read: Code, Test, Debug, Repeat.

Throughout all our coding adventures we promote the essential skill for life of problem solving. It's at the core of coding ... code > test > debug > and repeat! This is not only important to ensure that the code works, it also teaches us the importance of patience, practice, and the need to change and adapt should we need to.

We hope that everyone joining us with on a coding adventure this British Science Week has an awesome time and we can't wait to hear all about your experiences!

(... and if you didn't, we have some sponsor-funded coding adventures waiting to go, so sign up your schools to be considered for this term or next: www.getwiththeprogram.org.uk/free-sign-up)
