When Helen Sharman CMG OBE met AL the Robot ... 🤖🚀

The inaugural UK Space Skills Awards – The Hazels – certainly didn't disappoint! What a fantastic evening spent in the company of some of the UK's leading space industry specialists and inspiring figures, including Helen Sharman CMG OBE, the first British astronaut.

We were delighted to be part of this special event celebrating the incredible diversity of skills, roles, people and practices that make the UK space sector so innovative and successful. It was also a wonderful opportunity to introduce Get with the Program and share how we're helping to inspire the next generation of tech and space innovators through inclusive, engaging learning experiences.

Congratulations to all the deserving winners, finalists and everyone who entered. The depth of talent and passion across the UK space sector is truly inspiring.

Throughout the evening, we invited guests to nominate schools to take part in our Moon Landing Coding Adventure, funded by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport. This exciting enrichment programme combines the wonder of space with hands-on coding, helping young people develop valuable digital skills while sparking curiosity about future careers. We also asked them to consider joining our collective to further fund the coding adventure, extending the support we've already received from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, the Department for Transport, the Satellite Applications Catapult and the UK Space Agency.

There was even the chance to win a pair of AL the Robot flashing shoes ... and we're delighted to announce that Mark Radbourne from Aquila Learning was our lucky winner! 🎉👟
