MODERN DAY SLAVERY STATEMENT

Introduction

At Get with the Program (GWTP) we work as a team to promote a fun and inclusive learning environment where children can explore the world of coding and learn about the amazing potential of technology.

To operate responsibly, GWTP takes a zero- tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms including human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation.

This statement outlines the steps we, at GWTP, take to ensure that modern slavery does not occur within our business or supply chain, and our plans are to continue this commitment as we expand our business and services.

Modern Day Slavery Statement

GWTP currently operates within the UK education sector, delivering coding adventures to schools across the country, and curriculum-based learning experiences to primary and secondary school aged children. Our supply chain includes partnerships with both in-school and extra-curricular educational institutions, suppliers of teaching materials, corporate sponsors, and freelancers who support us with our content delivery. As we continue to expand our business, we are committed to maintaining the same level of diligence and care in preventing any forms of modern slavery from being present in our daily operations and/or through our supply chains.

Our standards comply with all current national laws and regulations to prohibit forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, slavery and any form of exploitation in our own business operations. We run every part of our business with honesty, integrity, and transparency in our daily operations. By following our due diligence process, we ensure that we do not partner with any organisation or body who do not align with our commitment to current legislation, ethics and integrity. We do not allow or enable others to behave in prohibited conduct on our behalf.

Our due diligence process ensures that all partners working with GWTP comply with regulatory legislation.

GWTP also supports and adheres to the principles set out in the Human Rights Act 1998. These internal guidelines and best practices include respecting equality and diversity whilst complying with national legal requirements regarding wages and working hours. We also support the International Labour Organisation’s standards on child labour and minimum working age.

Below are some of the other procedures GWTP have implemented to ensure modern slavery is not present:

Awareness and Training – We ensure that all GWTP’s contractors, freelancers and volunteers are aware of the risks of modern slavery and know how to report any concerns.
Recruitment Practices – GWTP follows ethical recruitment practices, ensuring that all GWTP freelancers are paid fairly and work under voluntary conditions. GWTP does not tolerate any form of exploitation or unfair treatment of workers.
Whistleblowing Policy – GWTP maintains a transparent whistleblowing policy, allowing anyone in the business or supply chain to report concerns regarding modern slavery without fear of retaliation.

Due Diligence and Risk Management

GWTP recognises that the risk of modern slavery throughout the business is relatively low, however we will remain vigilant and continue to carry out the following required measures:

Assessing suppliers as deemed appropriate by GWTP – GWTP will carry out due diligence screening reports on our suppliers.
Monitor new markets and regions – As GWTP enters new markets, we will review any potential risks specific to those regions and take proactive steps to mitigate them.

Looking towards the Future

As we grow, GWTP will continue to review and strengthen our policies and best practices to ensure they remain effective in preventing modern slavery. We will update our modern slavery statement annually and publish it on our website for transparency.

GWTP is committed to ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our business or supply chain. GWTP will continue to uphold our ethical standards and work closely with our Partners, Suppliers, Director(s) and Freelancers to ensure that everyone involved in our operations is treated with dignity and respect.
